Danica Patrick, driver of the No. 7 GoDaddy Chevrolet Camaro for Premium Motorsports
Talk about your race and thoughts on Sunday.
“That was the first time I ever had any cars behind me (this weekend). In practice, we did less than 10 laps just at the back of a group. It’s a handful, no doubt, especially getting into the corner. Handling is definitely going to come into (play on Sunday). I mean it’s nighttime and cool out, but come Sunday in the sunshine, it’s going to be all about handling. Tonight, even at the end, I was just playing it safe. We got really lucky we didn’t get in that first accident. Overall, it was a little too loose to push it. I mean, if I had pushed it, I might have just spun by myself, which that isn’t a very good move.”
Danica Patrick to race final Indy 500 with Ed Carpenter Racing
Danica Patrick, the first woman to lead laps in the Indianapolis 500, has apparently let slip that the sign-off to her racing career will be at the wheel of an Ed Carpenter Racing-Chevrolet at Indy.
Ed Carpenter on Danica Patrick's Indy 500 deal and what’s next
The news that Danica Patrick will sign off her race-driving career in an Ed Carpenter Racing-Chevrolet at the Indianapolis 500 leaked out by unorthodox method, but IndyCar’s only team owner/driver says he’s looking forward to the experience.
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (Feb. 2, 2018) - GoDaddy Inc. (NYSE: GDDY), the world's largest cloud platform dedicated to small, independent ventures, and Danica Patrick officially unveiled the No. 7 GoDaddy Chevrolet Camaro this morning. Danica led the way by posting images on her official website, DanicaPatrick.com, and promoting the site update on Instagram. The images reveal the car and debut the new Danica Double logo, which Danica helped create, as well as the familiar GoDaddy green on the No. 7 Chevrolet.
Patrick will drive for Premium Motorsports and have Tony Eury Jr. as her crew chief for her final NASCAR race. The No. 7 car will use that team's charter (the No. 15 car last year) to have a guaranteed spot in the field Feb. 18 at Daytona International Speedway.
Eury was crew chief for Patrick in the Xfinity Series during her partial schedules in 2010 and 2011 seasons and most of her full season in 2012.
"I'll be back in GoDaddy green, driving the No. 7 Chevrolet with Tony Jr. in my ear again," Patrick said in a news release. "It all makes my last NASCAR race just that much sweeter." Eury has spent the past few years building race car chassis.

The team will receive technological support from Richard Childress Racing and will use ECR engines.
Childress would not confirm or deny the possibility of Danica Patrick driving a car from his stable in the Daytona 500. It has been speculated that Patrick would pilot the No. 27 Chevrolet in the Great American Race.
“I’m not sure about that yet,” Childress said. “I can’t comment on that.”
When asked whether Patrick’s 500 ride could have a Childress engine, he replied, “She will, definitely, maybe, probably, could, you never know.”
